Industrial Rope Access Rope access techniques are based around using a ‘twin rope’ system of work in suspension. The operator is either partially or fully supported by their harness & lanyard system and can ascend & descend, move laterally, traverse from one set of ropes to another, aid climb vertically and horizontally and generally access any point on a structure. Rope access technicians may be required to work in the most diverse of environments and accordingly need sophisticated gear they can trust. Work on oil rigs, high rise buildings, ships, silos, signs and a host of other situations can mean bad visibility, heat (or cold), dangerous atmospheres and of course staggering heights. All this whilst performing maintenance tasks, non destructive testing, structural inspections, glass cleaning, sign erection and so on. | |
