Rescue Low & high angle rescue techniques are used in both wilderness and industrial applications by a range of organisations including Fire Rescue, Ambulance Rescue, Special Casualty Access Team, Police Rescue, SES, VRA, Bushwalkers Wilderness Rescue and Mines Rescue. There are a host of other non-affiliated bodies who also participate in vertical rescue activities to provide their own on site emergency response (such as on a building site, oil rig or power station). Equipment and PPE for rescue applications needs to be user friendly, durable and very strong. It will generally also need to meet a raft of Australian and International Standards as well. Vertical rescue is ultimately all about accessing, stabilising and transporting a casualty or casualties and can require a lot of gear to do this. It is essential that all rescue operators and teams have the lightest & strongest kit available to deal with the increased loads developed when lifting or lowering a casualty plus medic attendant and associated first aid & survival kit. | |
